Kris Klos began playing the flute in 5th grade.  After high school she joined the University of Minnesota Marching Band and also played in the University of Minnesota hockey band.  She and her family established and led the Richfield High School Alumni Band from 1992-2003 where they marched every summer in the annual Richfield 4th of July Parade.  She received her PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center/ M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas and recently moved back to the north to pursue a postdoctoral position at the University of Wisconsin focused on mammary stem cells and cancer.  She was excited to find an opportunity in Madison to play her flute again with the Madison Flute Choir.
