Berlinda Lopez teaches flute at Edgewood College in Madison and maintains a private woodwind studio. She has played with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Beloit-Janesville Symphony, and the Janesville Armory Dinner Theatre. Berlie works for the UW-Madison School for Veterinary Medicine at her day job and she enjoys playing with the Benny & Berlie guitar & flute duo.
Originally from Texas, Berlinda came to Madison on an Advance Opportunity Fellowship to attend UW-Madison. While in Texas, she taught woodwinds at Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications & Fine Arts, a magnet high school in Laredo, TX, was principal flutist of the Laredo Symphony Orchestra and maintained a private studio. She studied under Stephanie Jutt, Dr. Mary Karen Clardy, Kathleen Chastain and participated in masterclasses given by James Pellerite, Susan Milan, Leone Buyse, Katherine Kemler, Aralee Dorough, Jim Walker, Timothy Day and others.
